Why do I need an Apple ID?

You can not use your Apple device at its full potential if you don’t have any apple id. Your Apple ID would allow you to access all the services apple offers like iCloud, iMessage, etc. So, you must have an Apple ID to use these services.

Your Apple ID will store all of your purchase history and other information about you. You can sync your data across all devices if you use one Apple ID on all devices. For example, if you save a contact on your iPhone, you can get it on your iPad without transferring it because your data will be available to all of your devices.

It’s pretty easy to create an Apple ID and you can do it in just a couple of minutes. Apple ID can be created on any Apple device. But if you need to create an Apple ID on an android phone, you can do that too! Let’s see how to create an Apple ID easily.

How to create an Apple ID?

You need to have an internet connection to create an Apple ID on your iPhone or iPad. Apple IDs can be created from any device even if they are not from Apple. You can create an Apple ID on Windows, Linux, Android, etc. We have discussed them in our other articles at fixwill.com. For now, we will be showing you how to create an Apple ID on an Apple device. Follow the steps below:

  1. Open the settings on your iPhone Or iPad.
  2. If your device is currently running without any Apple ID, you will see this message on top of the settings: Sign in to your iPhone. Click on it.
  3. Now tap on the “Don’t have an Apple ID or forgot it?” option. A new window will be opened.
  4. Choose the “Create an Apple ID” option from the new window.
  5. Now your first name, last name, and birthdate are on the corresponding fields. Click on the ‘Next’ button to proceed to the next page.
  6. Now you will be asked to enter your email. The email you enter here will act as your Apple ID.
  7. Now enter a password for your Apple Id containing 8 characters mixed with capital letters, small letters, and numbers.
  8. On the next page, you will have to enter your phone number. Note that the phone number you will enter here should be yours. Because you will have to verify the number by receiving a code via SMS. You will have to enter the code sent to your phone number on the next page.
  9. After verifying the phone number you will see a long page describing terms and conditions. Click on the agree button to proceed. And your Apple ID has been created!

Are Apple ID and iCloud accounts the same thing?

No. iCloud is a cloud storage service provided by Apple Inc. You can store your photos, videos, and other files on the iCloud drive. So, even if you lose your phone or the files get deleted, you can always get them from there. On the other hand, Apple ID is your entry to access all the services Apple has to offer including iCloud, App store, iTunes, etc.

Remember the park example we gave you earlier in this article? Think of iCloud as one of the rides in the park. To get on the ride, you need to get a separate ticket that is associated with the ticket you used to enter the park. Here, Apple ID is your ticket to enter the park and iCloud is a ride inside the park. And your iCloud account is the ticket for this individual ride. Although Apple ID and iCloud are separate things, you will log in to your iCloud account using the same login credentials as your Apple ID.
