An SEO audit example, start to finish
This is a full audit of a made-up plumber’s website, laid out exactly like the one you would get: screenshots of the desktop and phone versions with every problem numbered, then a short report that ranks each one and says how to fix it.

Desktop and phone are checked separately, because they usually break in different places. On a phone you see the phone version here.
- 1On-pageNo H1 headingThe big title is styled text saying “Welcome to our website”. Google learns nothing from it.
- 2SpeedHero photo is 2.4 MBIt takes 4.8 s to appear on a phone. Visitors leave before it loads.
- 3On-pageEvery page is titled “Home”That is the line Google shows in results, and nobody searches for “Home”.
- 4LocalPhone number is a pictureGoogle can’t read it, so it can’t match it to your Business Profile.
- 1PhoneBody text is 11 pxToo small to read without zooming. 16 px is the usual floor.
- 2PhoneButtons 4 px apartEasy to tap the wrong one. Give each tap target room.
- 3LocalNumber you can’t tapIt’s a picture, so nobody can call from the page.
- 4PhonePop-up covers the pageGoogle can rank pages lower when a pop-up hides the content on phones.

Every problem, ranked by what it costs you
Each line says how much the problem matters, how hard it is to fix, where it happens and on how many pages. Open any line for the fix.
1Every page is titled “Home”Impact highEffort easyDesktop + phone23 pagesHow to fix
Give each page its own title that says what it is and where, like
Emergency Plumber in Leeds | Harbor Plumbing. Keep it under 60 characters so Google doesn’t cut it off.2The photo at the top is 2.4 MBImpact highEffort easyPhone1 pageHow to fix
Export it 1600 px wide as WebP (around 200 KB) and give it a width and height, so the page doesn’t jump while it loads. Largest Contentful Paint should drop under 2.5 s.
3No page for each serviceImpact highEffort mediumDesktop + phoneSite-wideHow to fix
Boilers, leaks and drains share one page, so none of them can rank for its own search. Give each service a page with the town in the title, prices if you can share them, and real photos of the work.
4A pop-up covers the page on phonesImpact mediumEffort easyPhoneEvery pageHow to fix
Show the newsletter offer as a small bar, or only after the visitor scrolls. Google can rank a page lower when a pop-up hides its content on phones.
5The phone number is a pictureImpact mediumEffort easyDesktop + phoneEvery pageHow to fix
Write it as text and make it a link:
0113 496 0000. Use exactly the number on your Google Business Profile.
How to read your audit
Start at the top. Problems are sorted by impact, so the first few lines are the ones costing you the most visitors. They come from the eight areas we check on every site.
Use the effort tag to plan. “Easy” fixes are often a setting or a few minutes in your site builder. “Medium” ones usually need your web person.
Forward the screenshots. They show exactly where each problem is, so whoever fixes it doesn’t have to guess. Or ask us: fixes are priced per job, in writing, before anything starts.
